In App Advertising FAQs
How do you target?
GPS, or location data, is our first level of targeting (geo-targeted advertising). We use location data to determine what is around the user and serve advertising that is relevant to where the user is physically located. The second level of targeting is time of day. Think about it: are you likely to engage with an ad for a new movie on Monday at 9am, or Thursday at 7pm? Are you more likely to be interested in an ad for coffee at 8pm, or 8am? Time of day matters. Time of day + location really matters.
Do geo-targeted ads alone pay more?
Yes. Actual mileage may vary, but for the majority of app developers geo-targeted ads will pay more because of the immediacy and relevancy to the user which provides increased advertising engagement, leading to higher in app advertising revenue for app developers.
How much more do geo-targeted ads pay?
On average, geo-targeted advertising pays up to 4X more than non-geo-targeted advertising. There are a variety of factors that affect how much you can earn from PlacePlay in app advertising such as click through rates, secondary click through rates, engagement, et al. What is your fill rate?
We are filling approximately 90% of ad requests in the US. We now have the ability to fill ad requests in Asia, Europe, et al. We are committed to providing a global, geo-targeted, advertising network and won’t stop until we can help every app developer increase in app advertising revenue in all countries.
What is the PlacePlay revenue share?
We provide a standard 70/30 revenue share in your, the developer, favor.
What are your payment terms?
We pay Net60, via check, wire transfer, or Paypal. We realize Net60 is longer than admob or iAd, and we are trying to improve this timeline.
Do you have an app developer dashboard?
YES! As of October 17th we released the first version of the PlacePlay reporting dashboard. It’s still beta and we’ll be improving it consistently – but it’s a start. After you have requested an AppID, we will send you a report portal activation email.
